Current weather
CURRENT WEATHER RESTARTED AFTER THE SUMMER BREAKSummer's drawing to a close,
but please do not despair,
there's news to keep you on your toes,
excitement in the air...
there is a reason to take heart,
No longer must you wait,
for current weather will restart,
at 2, please don't be late!
Current weather is an informal get-together every Friday afternoon at 2pm (or 2.30!) in the common area on the second floor of the former SISSA building and lasts for approximately 30 minutes.
We take a look at the forecast of the previous Friday and examine any notable local weather during the week and recent seasonal anomalies. Next we take a look at weather and climate in current affairs, identifying any weather/climate related events in the news, monitoring global climate events (droughts, ENSO etc) and sometimes entering a topic in a little more detail. Finally we present the Friday forecast for the following week.
The event is very informal, please shout out opinions! If you want to be added to the mailing list for the current weather reminders or volunteer to join the presenter team, then please send me an email.
2021: After being online only during the pandemic, we are now continuing in hybrid format with zoom/in person, contact me for the Zoom coordinates
Current presenter list rotation below, please volunteer to present, it is only once every 3 months, so the time required is very limited!
