Mission
Embracing science as a part of our culture and to stimulate reciprocal knowledge and friendship amongst different peoples, in order to make the Island of Lošinj a meeting place for scientific thought and cultural debates amongst Universities and Academies located in Central Europe and the Adriatic and Ionian areas.
Main Objectives
- Create a multidisciplinary institution with a European vocation within the framework of the bi-lateral co-operation agreement between Italy and Croatia and exploit the synergy with Uniadrion (a network of the Universities of the Adriatic and Ionian basin that promotes co-operation between Universities through didactical initiatives, conferences) - www.uniadrion.net) and ICTP (International Centre for Theoretical Physics - www.ictp.it), joining together the initiatives that are aimed at European cultural and economical development;
- organize multidisciplinary conferences, meetings, schools, working groups in order to highly favor the participation of young people;
- give assistance and support to the re-birth of the Encyclopaedia Moderna (an interdisciplinary review founded in 1966 by Ivan Supek dedicated to the Science of Philosophy and Peace, published by the Croatian Academy for Science) that could be tool for cultural collaboration and communication for Central Europe and the Adria region, also useful to stimulate reciprocal understanding and friendship.
