The Second International Conference and Advanced School
"Turbulent Mixing and Beyond" has been held on
27 July - 07 August 2009
at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy.

TMB-2009 has strengthened and reaffirmed the success of TMB-2007.

Presentations, Round Tables and Discussions of TMB-2009 have served
to advance the state of the art in our understanding of fundamental aspects of the
generic problem of non-equilibrium turbulent processes and
to provide a
positive impact on their predictive modeling capabilities,
physical description and control.

The Organizing Committee deeply appreciates the valuable contributions of the
Conference Participants and
thanks all the Authors for offering to the TMB their best research results and ideas.

The Organizing Committee gratefully acknowledges
the financial support of our Sponsors. Thank you for making this event possible.

We express our gratitude to the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee and Financial Support Committee
for their help with the Program of the Conference and School.

The information regarding Proceedings and Publications has been updated.
The Authors are encouraged to send their articles for publication to
tmb@ictp.it and tmb@flash.uchicago.edu .

The Final Program of TMB-2009, including Presentations, Round Tables and Discussions has been posted.

Presentations of the Conference and School can be viewed and downloaded at

The information regarding Financial Support has been updated.

The Participants are encouraged to send the Photos and Movies taken at the Conference to tmb@ictp.it and tmb@flash.uchicago.edu .

Second International Conference and Advanced School "Turbulent Mixing and Beyond" was a highly informative and effectual meeting.

We have had over 180 participants, ranging from students to members of National Academies of Sciences and Engineering and including researchers from the Universities, National Laboratories, Leading Scientific Institutions and Industry,
see
List of Presenters of TMB-2009  and List of Invited Speakers and Lecturers.

The TMB-2009 has covered 17 different topics, maintaining the scope and the interdisciplinary character of the meeting,
see
Structure of the Conference and School
and has kept the focus on the fundamental aspects of the problem of non-equilibrium turbulent processes and on the Objectives of TMB-2009

The success of the Conference and School has consisted from the successful work of all the participants, who were responsible and professional people, with a right attitude, caring for the quality of their research. The level of presentations was high.

We have been working 8.30 am - 6.30 pm every weekday from 27 July till 07 August, and have had about 170 presentations including over 60 invited lectures and 15 tutorials (4500 minutes of talks in total), about 40 posters, and two Round Table Discussions.

The Conference Proceedings will be published by the Physical Scripta (Topical Issue, all presentations), and in a Book (review articles, key-note lectures and tutorials of TMB-2009 and TMB-2007).
