A little about me:
I've had the previlege of living and traveling in different parts of the world. I was born in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. I then moved to Nairobi, Kenya when I was just over a year old which is where I did my primary and secondary education. I moved to the US for my undergraduate studies where I got my Bachelors at Purdue University. I subsequently moved to the Ohio-State University where I got my PhD in Biophysics.
I spent three years as a postdoc working with Michele Parrinello in the beautiful city of Lugano and am now based in Trieste working in the CMSP section at ICTP.
I am married to Rubab Mavani with whom I have two beautiful kids, Bilal and Aaayah.
When I am not thinking about the complex properties and behaviour of water, I enjoy long-distance running. I have now run the Trieste Marathon twice and am looking forward to doing many more.
