Global Data for RegCM3

1. ECWCRP: available from 1993 to 1997, T42L15, in GrADS direct access format. (only accessible from computers in PWC/ICTP)

2. ERA40: available from 1957090100 to 2002083118, 2.5°x2.5° L23, pressure level, in netCDF format, please give the acknowledgement to ERA40 project of ECMWF.

Users of the ECMWF data sets are requested to reference the source of the data in any publication, e.g. "ECMWF ERA-40 data used in this study/project have been provided by ECMWF/have been obtained from the ECMWF data server."

3. NNRP1: available from 1948 to present, 2.5°x2.5°, 17 pressure levels, in netCDF format

4. NNRP2: available from 1979 to 2009, 2.5°x2.5°, 17 pressure levels, in netCDF format

5. SURFACE: GTOPO30 Terrain and GLCC Landuse datasets, six (60, 30, 10, 5, 3 and 2 minute) resolution datasets (all gzipped files are available from internet). Soil texture datasets are only required for running dust experiment, and you just need download SOILCAT.02 and SOILCAT.TAR

6. SST: OISST and GISST datasets, 1 degree resolution. The netCDF format OISST is accessible from NOAA CDC ftp server, while the reformated GISST is just accessible from computers in PWC/ICTP)

7. CRU_TS2: CRU TS 2.02 datasets was kindly provided by Dr. T. D. Mitchell, Tyndall Centre: 0.5 degree resolution, global, 1901-2000. The reformed CDF format CRU_TS2 is accessible from internet. If you are intersted in the CRU datasets after 2001, you need get them from Climatic Research Unit after apply the permission to get CRU TS 2.1.

8. AEROSOL: Anthropogenic and monthly biomass burning SO2 emission is based on 2000 EDGAR; Anthropogenic black carbon (BC) and organic carbon (OC) emission is also from EDGAR; Monthly biomass burning BC and OC emission is from LIOUSSE.
