"1st Advanced Course on Computable General Equilibrium Modelling (CGE) and the Environment"


Short Description
A twelve day course on Computable General Equilibrium Modelling (CGE) techniques was organised jointly by the EEE Programme and SANDEE (South Asian Network for Development and Environment Economics). This course focused on how to develop and use CGE models to address environmental questions. Introduction to static CGE traditional approach, moving to dynamic optimisation issues and game-theoretical aspects, and training on GAMS package were included in the course programme of work. In the conclusive step, students were required to build their own "simple" CGE model. 23 participants from Bangladesh, Costa Rica, India, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka were selected amongst over 100 applications.
