Preparation of camera-ready typescript: Proceedings and edited volumes: A guide for authors
1. Introduction
These instructions are intended to provide guidance to our authors when preparing Camera-Ready submission to our new books. Please read these general instructions carefully before beginning the final preparation of your camera-ready typescript.
2. Printer quality, typing area and fonts
Use Microsoft Word (PC, Window type, Please Not with Macintosh) and a laser printer; use a 12.5 x 19-cm typing area with combination with the 10 points of Times New Roman (TNR) font. Please check your printout to be sure about the measurements. Compose your article as a Review chapter of ~ 10 to 15 pages, including text, figures, photos, tables, etc. Save your document as *.Doc or *.rtf. Pay also intention that your Printed Text Area is centered (the same margins in both sides of the PTA)
3. Fonts
Use TNR fonts in the sizes 10 points for the text and 8 points for tables and figure legends. The reference section should also be in the 8 point's font.
4. Format and Style
The text should be clear, concise, US English. Please be consistent
in punctuation, abbreviations, spelling (US style, headings and
the style of referencing). Use full justification at the right
side, while an indentation (of ~5 spaces, or ~ 0.5 cm) at the
new paragraphs, except after the first one following the headings.
Camera Ready copy will be printed exactly as it has been submitted,
so please make sure that the text is proofread with care. For
those contributors whose English is not their mother language,
please ask an English expert scientist to proofread your manuscripts
before submitting your manuscript.
5. Layout of the Opening Page
The opening page of a contribution to a proceedings or edited volume should always be a right hand page and should consist of: the title in capital letters, bold font, flush left, on the fourth text line; followed by the subtitle (if present) in italics, flush left, with one line of white above. The author's name(s) in capitals and the affiliation in italics, should be indented 2 cm from the left margin and should have two lines of white space above and three below, followed by the opening text, the first heading of the abstract.
6. Headings
There are four levels of headings:
1. First Order Heading
This heading is in bold, Upper and Lowercase Letters
("Title Case"), numbered in Arabic figures,
and has two lines of space above and one line below. The text
begins full out at the left margin. Print this heading as a "Title
Case" all first letters of each word is in Caps (except in
the preposition words).
Figure 1 shows the way the first page should appear in all chapter
of our book.
1.1. SECOND-ORDER HEADING IN CAPITALS
This heading is in roman capitals, numbered in Arabic figures and has one line of space above and below. The text begins full out at the left margin.
1.1.1. Third-order Heading in Italics
This heading is in Italics, upper and lower case letters,
numbered in Arabic figures and has one line of space above and
no space below. The text begins full out at the left margin.
7. Figures and photographs
Line drawings must be submitted in original form, or good quality
tracing paper, or as a glossy photographic print. Mark at the
opposite side your name, figure number and an arrow for the Top
of the illustration. Avoid transferring these illustrations as
attachments.
Halftone photographs must be supplied as glossy prints.
Mount all illustrations directly into the text at the appropriate
places, using a good quality paste or gum. Under no circumstances
should you use adhesive tape for mounting. Alternatively, you
could leave the appropriate space blank in the text, and submit
the illustrations separately.
If you do so, please put the figure number in pencil in the open
spaces in the text and on the back of the figures. Also indicate
the top of the illustration. The publisher will then take care
of mounting the figures.
Reduction. Should your typescripts need to be photographically
reduced before printing, please take this into account insofar
as the size of lettering and fine detail of both line and photographic
illustrations are concerned.
Legends for figures/illustrations should not be incorporated in
the figure itself and they should be listed in numerical order
(headed as "Figure 1.", "Figure 2.", etc.).
The legends should be set centered, below the figure.
Note: There is a possibility to print your illustrations in color.
The publisher is charging the authors for such color plates at
the present running rates.
8. Displayed Equations
Displayed equations should be set centered on the page, with the equation number in parentheses, flush right.

1. Introduction (or the First text line, first heading,
We do NOT recommend Abstracts)
One empty line
Start the text without any indention '
Figure 1. Sample of opening part of contribution of the review article.
9. Tables
Please center tables on the page, unless it is necessary to use the full-page width. Exceptionally large tables may be placed landscape (900 rotated) on the page, with the top of the table at the left-hand margin. An example of a table is given below.
10. I would recommend inserting after the main text a Summary section (not an Abstract) for making it easier for our reviewer and the readers who run over the chapters.
11. References (heading in size 10).
The references in the list should be in 8 points and should be composed in a commonly accepted way for your field of study. Some general examples are given below. Use the names-year in the text and not the number system (and not the number system!). The final list sort alphabetical without any numbering list in front of the source. Also use full style in every entrance (give the titles of the articles and in some cases also the books' titles)
Journal articles should consist of: Author's last name, initials (year) title of article, journal title, volume, and inclusive page numbers, e.g.:
Bear, J. and Bachmat, Y. (1986) New Fungi in the Dead Sea. Transport in Porous Media 1, 241-269.
Book references should be consist of: Author's name, initials, year, title of book, publisher, place of publication, e.g.,
Seckbach, J. (ed.) (1999) Enigmatic Microorganisms and Life in Extreme Environments, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht, The Netherlands.
If the reference to be cited is an article from an edited volume, or Book, then type the name of the editors, while their initials are first then their last names. and inclusive page numbers should be mentioned, e.g.:
Seckbach, J. and Walsh, M.M. (1999) give title of article, In: E. Wagner, J. Normann and J. Seckbach (eds.) From Symbiosis to Eukaryotism, Endocytobiology VII. University of Freiburg and University of Geneva, pp. 85-104. [Again, for the editors we type first the initial and them the last family names].
Note that the second and third lines are indented to the right (~ 0.5 cm) in order to separate one source from the other entry of the Ref. list.
12. Index
For the purpose of compiling a subject index, please submit two hard copies of your contribution to the Editor of the volume and highlight in color on one of the copies the keywords in the text itself, which should appear in the final subject index. Do not use more than two sub-entry levels.
13. Running Headlines
the running headlines of a contribution should be as follows:
Left-hand pages (even): page number flush left plus AUTHOR'S
NAME in CAPS centered;
Right-hand pages (odd): SHORT (not more than 40 letters)
RUNNING TITLE of contribution centered plus page number flush
right.
Leave about 1.5 spaces between the headers and the first text
line.
14. Submission
Check your typescript very carefully before it is submitted.
Submit two hard copies of the typescript to the Editor of the
volume. Always retain a copy of all material submitted as backup.
Also submit one copy with all the Key Words marked with a highlighter
marker.
Submit with your copies also a diskette (Ms prepared with Word
or RTF on Windows 1998 or lower version). We need this
disk for possible making some slight editorial revision in your
Ms.
15. Additional Information
Please contact your editor or the publisher for any further question or request, which may appear during the preparation of your chapter.
