ICTP Sesame Project

The SESAME Training Committee is calling for applications from scientists and engineers from the Middle East to the following programmes:
1) Cooperative research: trainees will join existing research groups in European Synchrotron Laboratories to train in research through research at the corresponding laboratories. The laboratories that already agreed to participate are:
| Elettra (Trieste) | more than one fellowship |
| Daresbury Synchrotron | more than one fellowship |
| Radiation Source (Daresbury) | |
| EMBL-DESY (Hamburg) | more than one fellowship |
| LURE (Paris) | not yet specified |
2) training for engineers in sectors relevant to the setting up and maintenance of the machine as soon as the transfer of BESSY 1 starts. The trainees will join technical teams of laboratories to work together on the current technical issues relevant to the maintenance, running and repairing of a Synchrotron source.
| Daresbury Synchrotron | more than one fellowship |
| Radiation Source (Daresbury) | |
| Elettra (Trieste | one fellowship |
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will cooperate with ICTP in raising funds for the fellowship scheme. We are now inviting applications from scientists and/or engineers interested in the SESAME project. Applicants should send a C.V. and a plan of the type of activities they would like to carry out if a grant is assigned to them. Applications should be sent to:
