15th Anniversary Meeting of Dirac Medallists
4-5 November 2000

------------

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the institution of the award of the Dirac Medal of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics.

During its short life, the Dirac Medal has become a prestigious award with an impressive list of medallists, all of them protagonists in today's theoretical physics research. We are celebrating this anniversary by inviting all Medallists to come to Trieste and tell us about their past or recent interests.

The event will occur on 4-5 November (a weekend was chosen to minimise the disruption of the participants' teaching commitments).

The response to our idea has been extremely positive and the list of those who have agreed to participate so far is:

Bryce DeWitt
Ludwig Faddeev
Sergio Ferrara
Dan Freedman
Michael Green
David Gross
Roman Jackiw
Helen Quinn
Yoichiro Nambu
Peter van Nieuwenhuizen
David Olive
Giorgio Parisi
Jogesh Pati
Alexander Polyakov
Tullio Regge
John Schwarz
The Medallists have been given the choice of two types of talk:
  1. A 30 minute more informal talk in which he/she will present recent work, including work in progress, or give a historical review;
  2. A 40-45 minute talk in which a more general review summarising the results reached in a subject may be presented.
We are greatly looking forward to what is going to be an exciting meeting and would like to invite all our friends from all over the world to come to Trieste to celebrate with us.
