History

Following the great success of the first painting competition called "Science and Nature at Miramare" held at the Centre in 1996/1997, the organizing committee, received several requests by local and international artists to host exhibitions of their works of art. With the support of the Director, Prof. Miguel A. Virasoro and with the advise of some consultants, some of which composed the first panel of judges for the painting competition, the Centre opened its Art Gallery at the Adriatico Guesthouse at the end of 1997, with a ceremony which hosted Authorities and artists.
